Sharon's Bio (Founder and CEO):

Sharon - Founder and CEOAs a young woman, Sharon taught elementary school in an inner-city school system.. Her experiences there led her to witness the harsh life of so many American children living in poverty. She has devoted much of her life to children's issues and to strenghtening the human environment in which all children must grow, live and learn.

In 1988 When Sharon was a young mother with 3 small children, she founded the Karitas Foundation. This foundation was set up with the purpose of selling Teddy bears and children's clothing nationally. A large per centage of every sale was then redistributed to organizations around the country that dealt with aiding homeless and abused children. Many community members in Denver and Houston witnessed Sharon and her 3 small children helping in homeless shelters, hospitals or charitable fundraising events throughout the years.

Sharon has always believed that if children are taught to help others at a young age, they will grow up to be much more sensitive, caring, concerned and compassionate adults.

Sharon has served on many boards throughout the years and received different honors. The one that she is most proud of is her National Mother of the Year award in 2001.

She is pleased to be working with her daughters Lauren and Ashley on her latest Teddy Bear Company. The purchase of a Teddy Share Bear provides critical nutritional supplements to children dying of starvation in Africa. In addition, Sharon hopes that the child purchasing the bear will realize that they are making a critical difference in the life of another child.

The TeddyShare Bear should be an on going reminder to our children that they can help their brothers and sisters who have less than they do, both in this country and in countries far away. Children should talk to their teachers, parents, ministers, rabbis, and others about how they can be helpful in organizing campaigns to actively help other children who are less fortunate. If children are encouraged and guided properly, they really can make a difference in this world.

About Teddy Share

Teddy Share, LLC was founded by Sharon Bush in 2008 with the goal of making teddy bears that raised money for charitable organizations. Sharon started working to raise money for children in 1989 with her non-profit KARITAS that gave a percentage of proceeds of licensed children's products to help homeless and abused children throughout the US. Today that original concept has blossomed into its own company that is sharing its profits with children and families throughout the world.

For Teddy Share's debut bears, Sharon teamed up with FEED Projects, which has raised 5 million US dollars to feed hungry kids around the world in school. Through the sale of the FEED 5 and FEED 3 bears, they are able to reach children five years old and younger who are suffering from acute malnutrition.

Teddy Share will continue to seek out charitable partners that make a difference in communities all over the world. To talk about forming a partnership with Teddy Share, email info@teddysharebears.com.
